Help Denver Prioritize its Transportation Investments

Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI), through its citywide transportation planning effort, Denver Moves Everyone (DME) 2050, has launched a third round of public engagement, and wants to hear from residents on what types of transportation projects they want to see in the future in the Mile High City.
To date, more than 10,000 Denverites have weighed in on the development of a vision for the future of transportation in Denver. Primary themes include having a city of safe streets, moving everyone with respect and care, and mobility options for those who need it most.
Now, the DME team is asking Denverites to prioritize transportation improvements to make the vision a reality. People can provide feedback through June 31 using a new online engagement tool at DenverMovesEveryone.com.
“It’s important for our team to hear what types of transportation improvements our residents want to see in Denver as we work to build the ideal transportation system for our city,” said Adam Phipps, Executive Director of DOTI. “The public’s feedback becomes part of a data-driven analysis that identifies the investments that best achieve our shared goals of mobility, safety, sustainability, community and quality.”
This newest phase of engagement comes just months after the DME State of the System report was released in winter 2022. The State of the System report illuminates Denver’s challenges and opportunities for building a complete transportation system that moves everyone and everything. The report found that 78% of all vehicle trips in Denver are people commuting to and from work; 50% of all traffic crashes resulting in serious injury or death happen on just 5% of Denver’s streets; and transportation is the No. 1 source of air pollution and the second largest generator of greenhouse gases in Denver.
Denver Moves Everyone 2050 launched in spring 2021 and is expected to conclude in 2022. The project is guided by community feedback and knowledge and insight from industry leaders in transportation, energy, education, health and wellness, and many more—a comprehensive approach to include all voices in the development of the plan. DME will build upon the extensive work completed for the Denveright Comprehensive Plan 2040, developing a transportation plan that aligns future investments with community-developed mobility goals.
About Denver Moves Everyone (DME) 2050: DME is a two-year project aimed to develop a visionary, citywide strategic transportation plan, with a keen focus on developing community-driven goals. The plan will prioritize equitable and safe transportation and mobility solutions for Denverites and seek to improve the movement of goods and services ensuring access to everything people need.
