Empower Northeast Denver Initiative Makes the Ballot to Protect the Voice of NE Park Hill
Last month, the Denver County Clerk announced that the community led Empower Northeast Denver campaign had enough valid signatures to make the November Denver ballot. The measure is a direct response to an initiative filed by SOS Denver to take away the voice of an entire neighborhood that has been systematically disenfranchised for more than 50 years. If the Empower Northeast Denver initiative passes, the current conservation easement on the Park Hill Golf Course property will remain in place. The City and the community will continue to work together to develop a plan that benefits the surrounding neighborhood, and the voices of Northeast Park Hill will lead this process.
Keo Frazier’s New Thinkers tackle Denver Environmental Challenges
New Thinkers – a group founded by entrepreneur Keo Frazier – hosted an event, in partnership with The Trust for Public Land, on April 30 at PlatteForum, which began with a tour of the Platte River’s history and impact led by City Councilmember Jolon Clark. The New Thinkers group continued to engage in a virtual discussion with Artivist Benjamin Von Wong, who creates art masterpieces from trash.

Birthed out of the 2020 summer protests, Endgame Association was created with a primary mission to inspire the Black community to come together for strategic community gatherings bringing together artists, activists, creatives, civil minded people, educators and entrepreneurs. At no charge, entrepreneurs can ‘pop-up’ and sell their merchandise at these events to make money, and get exposure and Chess is at the center of it all.
The Hue-Man Experience returns to Denver through Tattered Cover Partnership
“At this point in my life, reviving the Hue-Man brand wasn’t something I had previously imagined. However, in light of recent events, the need for this sort of inclusive curation and focus on diversity in literature is as evident as ever. My goal for this partnership with Tattered Cover is to build awareness around important issues, while giving a voice to Black authors,” Villarosa explained.
Mayor Hancock Appoints Reneé Goble to the Denver County Court
Mayor Michael B. Hancock announced the appointment of Reneé Goble to the Denver County Court. That appointment will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Gary Jackson.
