Fixins Soul Kitchen coming to Five Points

Fixins Soul Kitchen, the full-service soul food restaurant celebrating African American culture and traditions, is proud to announce its forthcoming location in Denver, set to open in early 2024. The new restaurant will join California restaurants in Sacramento's Oak Park and Downtown Los Angeles, as well as the recently opened Tulsa, Oklahoma location, which opened in May. Denver marks the second location outside of California as Fixins continues its national expansion across the United States.

Race2dinner has stirred up controversy after the trailer for their upcoming documentary “Deconstructing Karen” was released. Jackson and Rao are seen asking white women tough questions about race, like “Are you a racist?”. These questions visibly make the dinner participants uncomfortable, even sad, but this is the expected and intended response as Rao and Jackson seek to challenge and change “8 white women” at a time with their work.

Redbud is the passion project of co-owners and partners Tim Meany and Patrick Gonzalez. By day, Tim owns a local landscape business he has run for the last 36 years while Patrick works in software. Tim recalled driving by the lot that would later become the home to Redbud, thinking that the space would be perfect for a garden center. “I felt like the neighborhood was in need of a plant store,” said Tim, so he worked to create it. His goal is to transition to running the garden center full time to continue to invest in what he is truly passionate about.
