Munchies and Mimosas’ Return to Five Points is Liquid Gold

Kwon Atlas

Munchies & Mimosas, Denver’s hottest brunch event, returned to Five Points to REELWORKS (formerly known as the Exdo Center) and had over 1800 attendees on April 10th.

Munchies began as the founders observed a lack of cultural representation in the Denver party scene for African-American young professionals. They believed that the growing number of young professional transplants would expect and appreciate a well-planned brunch that is customary in eastern and southern cities. All the members being transplants and professionals themselves have curated an experience that has exceeded their original expectations. 4 years into this concept they have moved from a couple hundred partygoers to thousands. This latest event had big name liquor sponsors such as Deleon and CIROC, giving out free drinks.

“Our goal is to mobilize our production throughout the US and be recognized as the largest and safest live brunch experience. Keeping hospitality close, we have found the need for collaboration with local business in the restaurant industry and we are also open to sponsorships. Super thankful for all the support on our most recent event, “Opening Day Season 4”. This was our fourth run at Opening Day and we were able to brunch with over 1800 guests and zero altercations. We pride ourselves in being a safe and inclusive space for everyone and really respect our crowd for upholding this.”

With their success in Denver, they have begun doing parties in other cities and their next event is in Dallas.

“We are hosting our next event in Dallas on 6/25 and will have announcements for Denver coming soon as well. What makes us unique is that our team consists of people from different states who met in Denver but we want to be clear that this brunch is “Denver’s Very Own”. (Something we want Denver to be known for)”

Cameron Douglas, Collin Draine, Justin Murchison, Nahjee Maybin, Gabriel White, and Darryl Bufford were six guys who met in Denver from six different cities. They have formed a brotherhood and a fruitful business. When you attend a Munchies event you get to partake in a boosy melting pot experience and meet people who just might become part of your family in Denver. t is also widely known that this is the event to go in your best attire as local photographers are everywhere and you don’t want to be caught in less than your best.
