The Culture Museum, a new immersive, multi-room art installation is coming to the RiNo Art District in Five Points. Dedicated to elevating and celebrating iconic moments in Black culture, the museum will provide opportunities for Black artists and creatives along with a platform to educate new audiences in Denver. The Museum will be opening on January 15th at 1421 26th St, Denver, CO 80205

“Our goal is to create more than just a pop-up; this should be an empowering and uplifting experience where we can rejoice in the culture,” said Charlie Billingsley, founder of The Culture Museum as well as The Museum for Black Girls. “This will be a place to collaborate with under-represented artists and creatives, to inspire our community and to leave a lasting impact on each unique individual that enters The Culture Museum.”

The Culture Museum will explore different expressions of Black culture through a series of rooms spanning themes ranging from ‘90s sitcoms and iconic films to hip hop music to the barbershop and family reunions. The featured artists are Sarah Iverson, Jeremiah Black, Regine Cotton, Zaida, Decay Renew, Freedom Waves, and Chance.

The pop-up space at 1439 26th St. is being provided by EDENS, the real estate owner, operator and developer who provided the same space for Billingsley’s previous pop-up concept in Denver, The Museum for Black Girls. After a successful run that saw thousands of visitors in February through August of this year, that installation traveled to Houston for a run in another EDENS property that began on October 16.

Supporting our communities is at the heart of what we do at EDENS,” said Tom Kiler, managing director at EDENS. “Charlie’s work to elevate Black voices is necessary and inspiring. We’re proud to once again be partnering with her to provide a platform for diverse lived experiences and artistic expression in Denver and Houston.”

The Culture Museum is co-founded by Von Ross with Von Ross Productions and Leonard “Graffiti” Johnson. Visit https://www.theculturemuseum.com/ or @CultureMuseumDenver on Instagram for more information in the coming weeks. Tickets to visit the exhibit are $22.
